Description

This barn, located approximately 70 meters northwest of Leaden Roding Hall, dates from around 1600. It is timber framed and covered with weatherboarding, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of four bays arranged roughly northwest to southeast and is situated immediately southwest of an eight-bay barn, featuring one midstrey to the west. The structure includes jowled posts, primary straight bracing in the walls, and cambered tiebeams with arched braces. The roof is constructed with joggled butt purlins and inclined queen struts, and it has gables at both ends. The original ground sills remain intact on brick footings.
