Description

Serenga is a cottage that has been built in several stages, originating from the 16th century or earlier, with additions and alterations from the 17th century and later. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a hipped roof clad in corrugated iron, sloping to the right. The cottage has one storey and an attic, with two flat-headed dormers. There is a four-window range of casement windows with glazing bars. To the right, there is a 20th-century part-glazed door beneath a wooden gabled porch. Inside, the cottage retains an original inglenook fireplace and some 18th-century doors, while part of the roof shows a side purlin structure. The building displays visible halved and bridled and halved and bladed scarfs. A red brick chimney stack is located to the right.
