Description

April Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with later alterations. It is constructed with a timber frame and has a rough rendered finish, sitting on a brick plinth. The roof is half hipped and covered with red plain tiles, featuring two gabled dormers. There is an off-centre red brick chimney stack. The cottage is one storey with attics and has a two-window range of 19th-century casements. The right side has a vertically boarded door with a pentice board above it. Inside, there are internal chamfered bridging joists, an inglenook fireplace, and halved and bladed scarfs to the top plate. The roof structure includes side purlins.
