Description

Pump Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed with a timber frame and has a plastered exterior. The roof is thatched and half hipped to the right, featuring one gabled dormer. There is a red brick chimney stack on the right side. The cottage has one storey and attics, with a five-window range that includes diamond leaded casements or horizontal sliding sashes, all topped with pentice boards. There is an off-centre tusk tenon and a vertically boarded door located on the left return. It is reputed that the cottage was used as a Quaker Meeting House at one time.
