Description
Arundels is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with the frame exposed in the hall area. The roof is covered with red plain tiles, and the hall range has a hipped roof on the left side. There is an off-centre right red brick chimney stack with diagonal shafts attached. The building is in an L-shape, with a forward half hipped crosswing on the right and a lower level extension on the left. It has two storeys, attics, and a cellar. The façade has a window arrangement of 1:2:1, consisting mainly of three and four light leaded casements. To the left of the main range, there is a red tiled open porch with a vertically boarded door. Inside, it is reputed to contain moulded ceiling beams and joists, and the north-west wall has chamfered studs forming panels. There are three original doors that resemble the ledged cellar door made of moulded battens. The hall and sitting room have open timber ceilings, and original fireplaces are present.
