Description

The Red Lion is a house, formerly a public house, dating back to the 16th century, with alterations in the 17th century and restoration in the 20th century following a fire. It is a timber-framed building with plastered walls, arranged in an H-shaped plan, featuring gabled crosswings on the right and left sides. The left crosswing projects further to the left. The roof is covered with red plain tiles and includes a central gabled dormer. The building has two storeys and a cellar. It has three casement windows with three lights each. A 20th-century enclosed gabled porch with a 20th-century panelled door is positioned off-centre. There is one off-centre and one external chimney stack built of red brick. The building was recorded as a public house in 1715.
