Description

A pair of cottages dating from the mid-17th century or earlier, located on Church End, Stebbing. The cottages are timber-framed and have been plastered, with a red plain tiled, half-hipped roof. They are two storeys high, featuring a three-window front with 19th-century, small-paned casement windows. A 20th-century half-glazed door with a pentice board is situated to the left. A boarded door with two lights and a flat canopy, supported by iron brackets, is located to the right. An original central chimney stack is constructed of red brick. Group value is present due to their contribution to the historic character of the area.
