Description

The Chantry is a house dating to the late 14th or early 15th century, exhibiting a timber frame construction with plaster infill. A long wall jetty faces the front, featuring original brackets and a jetty to the left return. The left return is clad in weatherboards. The first floor incorporates ogee bracing. A board door is set within an arched surround. The roof is hipped and covered in red plain tiles, with gablets. There are two brick chimney stacks, one external and one off-centre. The building has two storeys and a three-range arrangement of diamond-leaded casement windows. A plaque indicating the date 1480 is present.
