Description

Little Fields is a cottage that dates from the 16th or 17th century, with 20th-century additions and alterations. It is timber framed, with parts weatherboarded and parts plastered, topped by a red plain tiled roof and featuring a central red brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and a two-window range of 20th-century small paned casements. There is a 20th-century central lean-to porch extension with a vertically boarded door and side lights on the returns. To the right, there is a 20th-century single storey extension that matches the roof and window style of the original structure. Inside, the cottage showcases much exposed timber, including stop-chamfered ceiling beams, original mullion windows, and a back-to-back inglenook with straight mantel beams above.
