Description

This is a range of houses and a shop built in 1875 by the architect W. E. Nesfield, located to the east of the church in the village. The building is two storeys high. The ground storey is constructed of red brick, while the upper storey is plastered with pargetted panels. A short, gabled wing projects on the front at the north end, featuring a shop bay window and doorway sheltered by a tiled canopy. The upper storeys of numbers 2 to 4 are jettied, supported by brackets. Most windows are casements, although the shop and number 1 have mullioned and transomed windows. The roofs are tiled and include hipped dormers of varying sizes, two of which incorporate large mullioned and transomed windows.
