Description

The Village School and School House is a mid-19th century building constructed from flint rubble, featuring red brick quoins and dressings. It was enlarged in 1877 by the architect W. E. Nesfield, who added a north wing. The main block has windows that are mullioned and transomed casements, while the wing features iron casements with glazing bars and small panes. A gabled porch with a Gothic arched entrance projects from the front of the building. The roofs are covered with slate, including fish scale on the main block, and there are two gabled dormers along with a tile-hung bellcote topped with a pyramid pointed roof.
