Description

The Old Forge is a timber-framed house, likely dating from the late 15th century. It features a two-bay hall that has been floored, along with solar and service bays. The exterior is weather-boarded, and the roof is pantiled with a half hip at the west end. The building has one storey and attics, with small casement windows. A modern gabled porch projects from the front, and there is an inserted central stack.

Inside, there are a pair of arched doorways in the cross passage leading to the service bay. Remnants of hall windows can be seen preserved in the front and back walls, and arched braces support the tie beams.
