Description

No. 17 Regent Street is a house that was formerly a shop, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and has a red tiled roof, with the chimney not visible from the road. The building stands two storeys high and features a single 20th-century three-light casement window on the first floor. The ground floor has an 18th-century shop front, which includes a three-light bow window on the left, adorned with patera to fluted surrounds. A dentilled bowed frieze extends over the right doorway, which has guttae to a moulded flat canopy and reveal panels. There is a blocked light above the doorway, which has a 20th-century door. This building is included for its group value.
