Description
The Trustee Savings Bank, located at No. 37 on Manningtree High Street, is a former house that has been converted into a bank. It dates from the 19th century and is constructed of plastered brick with a hipped grey slate roof. The building features painted chimney stacks on both the right and left sides. It stands two storeys tall and has projecting eaves with a dentilled and moulded cornice, along with a similar central band. The façade includes a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes, each adorned with plain side pilasters that extend from the band to the cornice. The ground floor is rusticated, featuring tripartite windows with glazing bars on the right and left sides, and a central door that dates from the 20th century.
