Description
No. 7 West Street is a house from the early 19th century, constructed with red Flemish-bond brickwork and topped with a hipped roof made of Welsh slate. The building stands three storeys high, with an exposed flank on the southeast side.
The front features a two-window arrangement of double-hung sash windows, each with painted stone sills and slightly arched heads made of rubbed brick. The wider southeast windows include two vertical glazing bars, while the other windows, which are aligned vertically above the entrance door, have a single vertical glazing bar. The entrance door is a contemporary six-panel design, set beneath a semicircular brick arch, and is accompanied by an enclosed plain fanlight and stone impost blocks.
A short section of boundary wall connects to No. 6 and includes a similar arched opening leading to the yard, topped with stone coping. The building has a ridgeline stack featuring three decorative pots and a moulded brick projecting band.
Inside, the house retains contemporary plaster cornices in the front rooms, as well as a staircase adorned with straight balusters and column-shaped newels.
