Description
Sweynes Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century with later alterations. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, featuring a hipped red plain tiled roof with gablets. The building has two storeys, with a central and left red brick chimney stack. On the first floor, there are four small paned casement windows, while the ground floor has three vertically sliding sash windows with shutters, all of which have pentice boards above them. The left door is vertically boarded with a moulded surround and a flat canopy. Inside, the four central roof bays have side purlins and three types of collar bracing to the principal rafters: one with a collar supporting a king post, another with solid arched braces forming an arch, and the last with reversed arches to the collar.
