Description

Forge Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located on Chelmsford Road, Woodham Mortimer. It is constructed with a timber frame and red brick facing, and has a half-hipped roof covered in red plain tiles. The cottage features external chimney stacks on the left and off-centre right sides. It is one storey high with an attic, and has three flat-headed dormers. The front has a three-window range of small-paned vertically sliding sash windows. An open-gabled porch with a vertically boarded door was added in the 20th century and is located off-centre to the left. Red-tiled rear extensions date from the 19th century and later.
