Description

Mote Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, featuring double range grey slate roofs and two red brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and a first floor with a three-window arrangement of two-light vertically sliding sash windows, each with moulded surrounds, brackets, and pelmets, except for the central single-light window. The ground floor has similar windows on the left and right, as well as a central panelled door with a fanlight above. Mote Cottage was once the home of the author S.L. Bensusan.
