Barn Approximately 4 Metres To North Of Little Beeleigh Farmhouse

This is a barn located approximately 4 meters north of Little Beeleigh Farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century. It features red English-bond brickwork and a low-pitched half-hipped slate roof, with black weatherboarded gables and a gabled midstrey of black weatherboarding over a timber frame on the east side. The west elevation has five unequally spaced buttresses with weathered tops, one of which has a former offset that has been removed. There is a wide double-boarded door with a segmental arched head. The lower part of the walls includes ventilator slots in each bay, which have moulded flat brick heads and splayed internal reveals. There are also further blocked rectangular openings and two pitching holes on the west elevation. Inside, the roof has substantial tie beams with early 19th-century V-strutted construction above.
