Description

The Shrubbery is a house dating from the early 19th century, reportedly built in 1804. It is timber framed with plaster rendering, and has double-pitched grey slate roofs, with two red brick chimney stacks to the front range. The front facade has a three-window arrangement of small-paned vertically sliding sash windows with moulded surrounds. A gabled grey slate porch with plastered plinth, trellised sides, and a round-headed archway leads to a panelled door with small-paned glazing. A flat canopy on brackets is located on the right return. To the rear, the house features an apsidal end with a conical grey slate roof and a pointed gothic sash window with glazing bars.
