Description

Bannister Cottage is a cottage that was formerly two cottages, dating from the 18th century or earlier. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring some decorative pargetting. The roof is red plain tiles, half hipped, with an outshot at the rear. There is an off-centre red brick chimney stack. The cottage has two storeys and a three-window range, primarily consisting of 19th-century three-light casements. The ground floor right window is a bay with glazing bars. Access is via a four-panelled door with a moulded surround and a slanting porch supported by brackets. In the early 19th century, this property was used as a poor house.
