Description

Court Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 17th century, with later additions including a left lean-to and a right range from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a red plain tiled roof that has two levels. It features a left red brick chimney stack and stands two storeys tall with an attic that includes a catslide dormer. The first floor has two windows, while the ground floor has four, all of which are 20th-century small paned casements. There is a 20th-century French window with sidelights in the left lean-to and a gabled porch with a vertically boarded door to the right.

Inside, the original range retains significant features, including a nearly complete frame with visible carpenters' marks, heavy chamfered bridging joists, through bracing to the wall, and halved and bladed top plate scarfs. The original first and attic floors are still intact, along with a moulded three-board door with strap hinges and a catch. The newel staircase is located by the chimney stack, and the roof has side purlins with numbered collars. The rear lean-to, situated between the later gabled wings, appears to be an integral part of the structure.
