Description
Keelings is a house that features an early 19th-century front range and a 16th-century rear range, which has undergone alterations and additions. The front range is constructed of red brick from the 19th century, while the rear range is made of 16th-century red brick and has parapet verges on the east and west gables, along with two weatherboarded gabled ranges facing north. The rear roofs are covered with red plain tiles, while the front range has a ripped grey slate roof with red brick chimney stacks on both sides. There are two rear chimney stacks, each with two attached diagonal shafts. The house is two storeys high and has a front elevation with three windows, featuring small paned vertically sliding sashes set under gauged brick arches. The central entrance has a panelled door with a traceried light above, reveal panels, a fluted surround, and a moulded and dentilled semi-circular flat canopy, approached by two steps. Inside, many timbers are exposed, including jowled storey posts and ceiling joists with decorative carvings. The front range also includes a stick baluster staircase and panelled doors.
