Description

Bacons Cottages is a row of cottages, now functioning as one dwelling, dating from the 18th to 19th century. The building is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a hipped grey slate roof and featuring three red brick chimney stacks. It stands two storeys tall, with single storey 20th century service wings at the rear. The front has a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sash windows on the ground floor, which are complemented by pentice boards above. These windows alternate with three vertically boarded doors that have moulded surrounds, fascias, and flat canopies over them. Inside, the cottages retain 19th century cast iron fire surrounds, original staircases, and doors.
