Description

Moor Hall is a house that dates from the 17th or 18th century, with earlier sections and later additions from the 19th century. The original part of the building is timber framed and features panel pargetting, while the left sections are constructed from 19th-century red brick. The roofs are made of red plain tiles and grey slate.

The right range of the house has a prominent gable and a crosswing, with two red brick chimney stacks. The building has a one-storey and attic structure, featuring a range of three-light leaded windows, with the two right windows being small paned horizontal sliding sashes. The left side of the house has three forward bays and one bay attached to the older range, originally two storeys high, which was raised by one storey around 1900. This section has gables on both ends and a window arrangement of three small paned vertically sliding sashes, with tripartite windows on the ground floor.

A central porch is approached by four steps and has a panelled and moulded flat canopy supported by two fluted columns and two fluted pilaster columns, each with moulded capitals and bases. The porch features a panelled surround to a six-panel door with panelled reveals and a traceried round-headed light above. To the left of the porch, there is a lean-to conservatory.

Inside, the house includes a large hall with a wreathed handrail leading to a stick staircase. There are reveal panels on the panelled doors, moulded wainscoting, and ceiling beams with stop-chamfered bridging joists in the original sections of the building.
