Description
The Old Rectory is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, constructed of red brick. It features a hipped red tiled roof with three segmental headed dormers and has red brick chimney stacks on both the left and right sides. The building has a dentilled eaves cornice and includes later rear wings. It is two storeys high with attics and has a five-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes, each with gauged brick arches. The central entrance consists of glazed double doors beneath a lead tent porch supported by metal. The front and returns have round head arches, with trellising over and to the front supports. On the left return, there are eight panelled double doors, fluted pilasters with moulded capitals and bases, a moulded frieze, and a dentilled and moulded pediment. The right return features metal urns on stone plinths at the angles of a stone patio. Inside, there are panelled shutters and an Adam style fireplace in the left drawing room, along with two arcade columns with foliate capitals to the right of the door.
