Description

Ye Olde White Harte Hotel is an 18th century red brick building located on The Quay. It has two storeys, attics, and cellars, featuring a six-window range with double-hung sashes that have glazing bars, all set in flush cased frames. At the east end, there is a two-storey rectangular bay, while the west end has a large 20th century bay on the ground floor and the original bay on the first floor. The entrance features a glazed six-panel door with a doorcase that has panelled pilasters and a flat cornice hood supported by scroll consoles. A raised brick band runs between the storeys. The roof is tiled and includes a modillion eaves cornice, two large 20th century dormers, and a smaller flat-headed dormer. The hotel is part of a group that includes Quayside and Moorings, Shore House, Roach House, Corner Cottage, and The Anchor Hotel.
