Description
The Queen's Head Public House is an early 16th century house located on Churchgate Street. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a long wall jetty at the street front with a framed bressumer. Originally, the building consisted of four bays, with chamfered bridging-joists and haunched tenons. The windows are 18th century sashes, and there is a curved brick bay window at the north end of the ground floor, which is combined with the doorway. On the front first storey, there is a small wrought-iron leaded casement in front of an intruded chimney stack. The roof is original and includes an octagonal and broach-stopped crown-post at the center of its length.
