Description

This is a pair of cottages, built in the middle and late 19th century and later combined into a single dwelling. The construction is timber-framed and clad with weatherboarding, with a roof of handmade red clay pantiles. The building is arranged in an "L" shape, with wings extending to the southwest and southeast, featuring a shared chimney stack with the adjacent property at number 111 York Hill. A single-storey, lean-to extension is located in the southern angle of the building. The southwest elevation, which is the gable end of the southwest wing, has a double-hung sash window with 16 panes on each of the two floors. The southeast wing features a plain, boarded door, along with two 20th-century casement windows on the ground floor and one on the first floor. Number 109 contributes to the group value of the buildings at numbers 107, 111, 113, 115, and 117 York Hill.
