Description

This barn dates from the early 17th century and is located to the northwest of Woodend Hall. It is a timber-framed building with eight bays. A gabled midstrey, or central structure, is positioned on the southeastern side. It has a bracketed gable and a pigeon loft built above. The roofs are gabled and covered with asbestos, as are the roofs of lean-to additions on the southeast side and against the southwest gable. The exterior is a mixture of tarred black weatherboarding and old render. The roof structure features halved and bladed scarf joints and a 'V' strut roof supporting a side purlin.
