Description
Slades Farmhouse is a house dating from the 13th and 16th centuries, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior. It has a two-storey 'H' plan layout, featuring crosswings at the north and south ends, both topped with half-hipped roofs and gablets covered in clay peg tiles. There is a rendered stack on the south end wall, and the windows are modern casements with small panes. Additionally, there is a flat-roofed dormer in the 'hall' section, which includes a lean-to extension with a peg tile roof. The farmhouse retains remnants of a 13th-century aisled hall, along with a fairly complete 16th-century crosswing. Notable features include a trait-de-jupiter scarf joint and storey posts from the earlier aisled hall.
