Description
Charlies Farm is a house dating from around 1600, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior. It stands two storeys high, featuring black weatherboarded sides and a band at the base of the front elevation. The roof is gabled and covered with peg tiles, and there is a lean-to extension at the south end that includes a glazed porch and a flat-roofed dormer on the rear slope.
The front of the house has four double-hung sash windows with small panes and moulded surrounds on the first floor. The ground floor has three similar windows and an off-centre flat hooded door surround from the early 19th century, supported by scroll brackets and pendant mutules. The house is arranged in three bays, with the northern bay displaying exposed bridging joists and floor joists that reflect a late 16th-century style, all within a simple square box frame featuring unjowled posts.
