Description
Millers Green Hall is a house dating from the early 15th century. It is timber framed and plastered, consisting of one storey with attics and a two-storey crosswing at the west end. There is a 20th-century two-storey extension at the rear of the east end. The roofs are gabled and covered in clay peg tiles. The building features a rebuilt 17th-century stack with an angled shaft, located against the east side of the crosswing. An off-centre gabled porch from the 20th century is present on the front elevation, along with 20th-century casement windows that have leaded lights. A large, low-mounted dormer is situated on the rear roof slope. The crosswing has simple bargeboards and a side purlin roof, with an internally moulded post supporting the main hall's spine beam. There is an inserted 16th-century floor, and the former open hall consists of one wide bay and one narrow bay. The crosswing is likely from the 15th century and features a crown post with a flat moulded capital and base, arch braces, and a tiebeam without arch braces.
