Description

Millers Green Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a thatched roof that is hipped on the west side and gabled on the east. The cottage has one storey with attics and has been substantially rebuilt, particularly the 17th-century stack. It has three gables, with thatched dormers on the front roof slope and two small ridge stacks. The windows are 20th-century casements with leaded lights. Inside, the cottage is a small open hall house with a parlour in the north bay and a later extension on the south end. Notable interior features include jowled posts, straight internal wall bracing, and tiebeams. The roof structure consists of side purlins with thin straight windbraces.
