Description

Anchor Cottage, also known as Bonita, is a 16th century house located on Anchor Hill in Wivenhoe. The building is timber framed and plastered, featuring a jetty that is underbuilt in brick. It has a ridged gabled and hipped roof covered with peg tiles, and two red brick chimney stacks.

On the first storey, there are four pairs of small-paned sash windows in exposed boxes. The ground storey includes a blocked window on the left side, a 19th century shop front that is all in one case with a leaded top, and a door located in the third place. To the left, there is a fixed-paned light with three and two pairs of small-paned sashes. Adjacent to this is Anchor Cottage, which has a door and two modern sash windows.
