Description

This pair of cottages, dating from 1734, is located opposite the Anchor Inn on West Street in Shapwick. The cottages feature walls that are partly brick and partly brick with flint banding, topped with thatched roofs and brick chimney stacks. They are two storeys high. The east elevation includes a ledged door, one ground floor casement window with glazing bars, and three fixed windows. On the first floor, there are three casement windows with glazing bars. The entrance to the south cottage is situated in the west wall. Inside, there are some exposed chamfered ceiling beams.
