Description

This 17th-century house forms a continuous range along the quay and street corner in Wivenhoe. The building incorporates Maple Cottage, Quayside Cottage, and Trinity House. It has a ridged, gabled, slate-clad roof, with a crosswing also gabled. Two red brick chimneys are present, one on the left and another one bay from the right. A 17th-century jetty is visible on the left-hand bay, featuring applied sham timbers. The roof includes two flat dormers with modern leaded lights. The Quay front has three semi-circular bow windows, each two stories in height and featuring dentilled cornices, two mullions, and curved pairs of small-paned sashes. The walls are mainly painted brick, with some weatherboarding.
