Description
The Boat House, also known as Boat House Cottage, is a building located in Bures Hamlet, dating from the early 17th century. Originally a single house, it has been divided into two cottages and later combined back into one. The structure is timber framed and plastered, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. It features three bays facing west and has a central chimney stack. There are two single-storey rear extensions from the 19th century, along with a lean-to on the left, all of which have slate roofs. The building stands at two storeys with attics and has a two-window range of early 19th-century sash windows, each with 16 lights, plus one additional sash window in the left extension. There are two blocked doors, and the entrance is located in the right return wall.
