Description
No. 3 Bridge Street is part of a larger house, now functioning as a single residence. It dates back to the 15th century and features a timber-framed structure that is plastered and roofed with handmade red clay tiles. The building has one bay facing south and was formerly part of a continuous range with No. 5 Bridge Street. There are rear extensions, and the building stands two storeys tall.
On the ground floor, there is an early 20th-century shopfront that includes three windows and one half-glazed door, flanked by three pilasters with a simple incised design. The first floor features a sash window with 12 lights, dating from the early 19th century. The plasterwork on this level is incised to imitate stone blocks. Inside, there is a chamfered beam with exposed plain joists that have a horizontal section.
