No 1 Eld Lane is a late 18th century to early 19th century building made of painted brick. It stands two storeys high and features two windows with sash frames that include glazing bars. The building has a small shop front and is topped with a tiled roof. Notably, it is structurally connected to the visible remains of the Roman Town Wall. No 1 Eld Lane is part of a group that includes the Scheregate, Scheregate, and The Purple Dog at 42 Eld Lane.
