Description

The Purple Dog is a building dating from the 16th century, although it has undergone significant restoration. Despite this, it retains some external character, although much of the original detail has been lost. The structure has two storeys, attics, and cellars, with tiled roofs. The upper storey projects on the west and south sides. The Purple Dog is part of a group that includes No. 1 Eld Lane, The Scheregate, Scheregate, and Nos 18 to 22 (consecutive) and No. 26.
