Description
Games Farmhouse is an early 15th century small hall house located on Peldon Lower Road. It is timber framed and features a red plain tile half hipped roof. The building has two storeys and includes a two-window range with modern casements. At the east end, there is a modern single storey extension that is weatherboarded and also has a red plain tile roof. To the south, there is an early 17th century timber framed extension with a red plain tile roof. The original structure was a two bay open hall with a floored end bay, and most of the original frame remains, showcasing high-quality workmanship. Notable internal features include screen doorways, a 16th century inserted first floor, an arch braced cambered tie beam with a cross quadrate crown post, stop-chamfered beams, and a raised tie beam in the west end frame. The 17th century wing also displays an exposed frame with heavy jowled storey posts.
