Description

Moulsham War Memorial is a First World War memorial, built in 1920 and designed by Mr. Wykeham Chancellor. It is made of Portland stone and is located within the churchyard of the Church of St John the Evangelist, which is also listed as Grade II.

The memorial features a Latin cross on a tapering shaft. The shaft culminates in a cushion pad that rests on an octagonal plinth, which is set on a two-stepped base. The inscription on the memorial reads: "IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF MOULSHAM WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919" followed by the names of those commemorated. The memorial is situated in an area of shingle within the churchyard.
