Description

First World War memorial, 1920, designed by Mr Wykeham Chancellor.

MATERIALS: a Latin cross in Portland stone.

DESCRIPTION: Moulsham War Memorial is located within the churchyard of the Church of St John the Evangelist (Grade II).

The memorial consists of a Portland stone Latin cross on a tapering shaft. The shaft ends in a cushion pad which sits on an octagonal plinth on a two-stepped base. The inscription reads IN MEMORY OF/ THE MEN OF MOULSHAM/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1919/ (NAMES).

It stands in an area of shingle within the churchyard.
