Description
The Star and Garter Public House is a building dating from around 1700. It features a timber frame with a front made of painted brick and weatherboarding at the northern end, as well as above the square-headed rear access opening. The structure consists of three bays and two storeys, with a round-headed front door situated between pairs of sash windows, two on each floor, and a casement window above the access archway. The front has a parapet, and the roof is ridged from north to south, covered with peg tiles. There is one chimney stack located off-centre on the ridge and another at the southern end. The building has a rectangular plan. Inside, the south bay ground floor room is notable for its elaborate dentilled ceiling cornice.
