Description
The Shouldham War Memorial is a First World War memorial, erected around 1920, with additions for the Second World War. It is made of Portland stone and is located in the churchyard of All Saints' Church on Norwich Road in Shouldham, Norfolk. The memorial is prominently placed by the churchyard path leading to the church entrance. It features a budded cross head with a shield at the center, sitting atop a tall, slender, octagonal shaft that has a gable-moulded collar and a moulded foot. This shaft stands on a square plinth and a two-tiered octagonal stepped base. The plinth and the top step of the base display the inscriptions.
The inscription reads: "IN MEMORY OF/ THE MEN FROM THIS PARISH/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 – 1918// (NAMES)// 1939 – 1945/ (NAME)."
