Description

Alexandra Cottages are a pair of semi-detached houses dated 1862. They are constructed of whole flints with gault brick dressings and have a slate roof. The symmetrical facade is divided into four bays by brick pilaster strips, which are doubled at the centre and ends of the elevation. The right and left bays contain panelled doors, each sheltered by a moulded brick hood on a label. Each of the two central bays has a three-light timber cross casement window with timber hood and diamond pattern glazing bars. Above, there are two two-light casements with diamond glazing bars. A brick eaves cornice sits below the gabled roof, and a central ridge stack features three pairs of diamond flues on square plinths.
