Description
Colt's Hall Barn is a barn constructed from re-used clunch and brick, dating from the late medieval period and 16th century, likely reconstructed in the 18th century. It features a hipped pantile roof and consists of a single range that is one storey high. The barn has diagonal corner buttresses and a central stepped buttress on the east and west sides, all made of brick and clunch. The walls are made of coursed clunch. On the west side, there is a row of blocked brick lancets from the 18th century, two 19th century segmental-headed windows, and a pair of full-height double doors. The east side has a row of blocked square windows, two 19th century segmental windows with gault brick architraves, and another pair of full-height double doors. The three southern bays have been opened up to create a cartshed. The roof height was raised in the late 20th century, and the barn was re-roofed at that time.
