Description

Playter’s Hall is a house composed of two distinct blocks, dating from the early 18th century and the mid-18th century respectively. The north block is built of whitewashed brick and has a plain tiled roof, while the south block has whitewashed brick with black glazed pantiles. The north block is two storeys high with a dormer attic. It features two renewed casement windows on the ground floor, each set beneath a segmental arch. There's a late 18th-century casement window on the first floor to the right, and a renewed casement to the left, the latter under a basket arch. The roof is gabled, with a 20th-century gabled dormer centrally placed. The north block has internal gable end stacks, and the roof was renewed in 1958.

The principal range of the south block is two storeys high and five bays wide. A central panelled door is located behind a portico porch with a flat entablature. The ground floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath gauged skewback arches. The roof is bell-gabled, with internal gable stacks on the right and left sides. The south gable has tumbled brickwork. A rear gabled cross wing features early 18th-century three- and four-light casement windows.
