Description

Motts House is a timber-framed house dating back to the late 16th century, with a 17th-century extension and alterations and additions from the 18th century and later. The front of the house was refaced in the 18th century using red brick and features a parapet. It is two storeys high with a seven-window front, alongside a three-window extension. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in plain reveals. A central four-panel door is topped with a rectangular fanlight, fluted pilasters, and a cornice. The roof is tiled, and it retains two original chimney stacks with grouped diagonal shafts on square bases. Motts House is part of a group of listed buildings around The Green, which also includes numbers 8, 10, 58, 52, and 25.
