Description

1, Romans Place is a two-storey and attic house built in the 18th century as part of a block of three. It retains group value due to its historical connection with numbers 9 and 12 Lodge Road. The front elevation has three windows, which are double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in flush cased frames. A central doorway is framed by pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. A raised brick band defines the division between the ground and first floors. The building is tiled, with three gabled dormers lighting the attic space. Gabled wings extend to the rear, one of which is a modern addition. The house shares a continuous roof line with numbers 2 and 3.
